01:39 pm - I'd like to try a pennyfarthing, once Mud is fun but not every time you ride your bike. So I went over to my favorite bike shop and had mud guards installed. While I was at it, I asked them to change my handlebars to something higher, as I had been straining either my back/neck or my palms while riding. (Also, the bottom bracket needed tightening; I diagnosed this by noticing I’d started trimming all the time.) Anyway, the result looks really funny, and it feels like a completely different bike. I should probably have asked them to let me hang on to the old handlebars for a while, to see if I was sure I liked the new ones. But I’m sure they’ll be cool about it if I show up in a week and ask for them back. Anyway, here’s the result:

Sorry for the crummy photography. I’m wondering, should I get tape for these? They look like steel, not aluminum. I have to get used to them!
Oh, and since they’re like fifty three meters higher than my old ones, the brake cables needed to be changed. I took the opportunity to switch between the front and rear brakes, and now I have another thing to get used to :) Current Music: John Cale, randomly
