Pretty story in pictures (thanks, ink!)
I was compelled by this entry to order some books by Shaun Tan.

Awww. Now I have to work hard not to send the link to Daniel, Shachaf, and Rose. Because really, there's enough information overload around already (but damn, that's just lovely.)
Loved it! Thanks for sharing.

Delightful! Thank you.
Yester-day, I received copies of The Arrival and of Tales from Outer Suburbia, each by Shaun Tan, through which I went to-day.
The Arrival is an unequivocally wonderful work. I very strongly recommend that anyone who hasn't gone through it do so.
Tales from Outer Suburbia is not as wonderful, but it is still quite outstanding. It finishes with an especially short and yet especially powerful story, of the sort of prose that skirts the distinction from poetry.
I am still waiting on a copy of The Red Tree, but based on these two books, I plan to acquire copies of Lost Thing and of The Haunted Playground.
